The premiere night “Exes Baggage” was the first movie premiere in the Middle East
and Carlo Aquino’s first international movie screening
It is finally the weekend, and the overseas Filipinos in Dubai were excited to catch the film Exes Baggage, which stars Angelica Panganiban and Carlo Aquino. Their movie day was made special after The Filipino Channel (TFC) and the Black Sheep organized a movie premiere with Panganiban and Aquino at the Reel Cinema in Dubai Mall on Oct. 6.
As the love team popularly known as CarGel appeared before them, the fans in the cinema could not contain their excitement as their idols waved and gave them a warm greeting. The international premiere was exclusively held in the Middle East, which happened to be the first movie premiere screening in the region and Aquino’s first time to have an international screening for a film with him as the star.
Before the screening started, some fans and members of the press asked Panganiban and Aquino a few questions that they obligingly answered. Relating to the title of their film Exes Baggage, one fan asked for them to give an advice to overseas Filipinos who carry with them “excess baggage” that could either refer to their personal relationships or literally their baggage at the airport.
“Bitawan nila, kasi mahal, e, ang mahal ng bayad!” Panganiban candidly replied at first bu shifted to a serious note, “Puwede kayo maging devoted sa work, okay 'yan. Pero sa pain, 'wag kayo maging devoted. Iwan mo. Puwede mo naman i-embrace for a time para matuto ka. Tapos no'n, let go.”
On the other hand, Aquino kept it short: “Let go and move on.”
The day was made even more memorable as the fans were given a photo opportunity with Panganiban and Aquino that could be seen on facebook.com/TFCMiddleEast.
CarGel’s film Exes Baggage is the debut film of ABS-CBN Film’s newest production brand, Black Sheep, which caters to the new generation of audiences.
