Samar is in the spotlight in new Viva movie

 The island of Samar, the third largest island in the Philippines and home to close to two million Warays in three provinces {(Western) Samar, Eastern Samar, and Northern Samar, is the setting of a new movie produced by Viva Films in collaboration with BluArt Productions, Saprk Samar and Saga Prefecture Film Commission.

The film unspooled in theaters last Wednesday and is about three total strangers forced to confront their past. That confrontation changes their lives altogether.

Bona Fajardo,writer and director of romantic drama movies, like Iliwand I Found My Heart in Santa Fe, is back with another heart-warming movie, Kahit Ayaw Mo Na.

In the movie, three girls, Joey, Mikee and Ally, all drawn to the beautiful province of Samar, find themselves on the island on separate undertakings.

Joey (Empress Schuck), a designer is looking for a local start up business on the island with her boyfriend Reggie (Daniel Matsunaga). There they meet Edlyn (Desiree del Valle) and Dong (Alan Paule), a couple that is into banig-weaving business. Living with them is daughter and aspiring songwriter Ally (Andrea Brillantes). 

Meanwhile, food and travel vlogger, Mikee (Kristel Fulgar) and friend Jiro (Kuya Sawa) visit the province to feature Samar’s secret kitchens -- a well-guarded family recipe of Dong’s mother.

While they enjoy the beautiful places and people of Samar, Joey and Mikee struggle with issues that they need to face and resolve. Both of them hold a grudge against their respective fathers they never knew. Ally on the other hand, is trying to figure out how her unrequited love can be unraveled.
