TV host and actress Alex Gonzaga is the new ambassador for the Philippines’ leading mobile wallet, GCash, which is operated by Mynt (Globe Fintech Innovations, Inc).
The 31-year-old comedian and vlogger signed with GCash on 30 May bringing her well-known wit and humor to connect with 20 million users and promote financial inclusion in the Philippines.
“Alex Gonzaga represents what our core users stand for—independence, kindness and empowerment. She is a wonderful person whose heart is in the right place. GCash is really excited about this long term partnership,” Ney Villasenor, head of Mynt’s Corporate Communications Group, said.
GCash recognizes Alex’s success as a businessman an independent woman, and a highly relatable influencer.
“We do not plan to change Alex as a person. We want her to maintain her brand of wit, humor and passion as she experiences GCash and shares it with her own base and reach,” Villasenor said.
Alex has more than 3.6 million subscribers on YouTube, where she tackles all kinds of topics, from style to make-up to relationships. Her latest music video, “Chambe,” is a top hit, with over 24 million views. Alex also has 6.6 million followers on Instagram.
The actress, who entered show business in 2006, has won awards for her hosting stint, including the Students' Choice of Reality/Game Show Host 2016 and the Best Talent Search Program Host for 2013 and 2014, all for hosting The Voice.
